Rivian is Following in Tesla's Footsteps of Changing Too LFP Battery Cells

Rivian will follow Tesla and change the type of battery cells it uses in standard packs 3/10/22

Citing large-scale supply chain struggles and the added burden to the supply chain that has come from the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe explained that his company was “looking at one of the most challenging supply chain environments the automotive industry had ever seen.” Because of this, Rivian is planning to use new types of battery cells in its electric trucks, delivery vans, and SUVs. These battery cells will be made of high nickel, and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistries, following in Tesla's footsteps.
