Panasonic plans new massive battery plant in U.S. to supply Tesla -NHK 3/4/22
Panasonic is reportedly looking to purchase land in the US to use for a mega-factory to produce EV batteries for Tesla. Panasonic is looking at factories in Oklahoma and Kansas, both near Texas where Tesla's new EV plant will be located. Panasonic has already said that it will be producing lithium-ion batteries for Tesla prior to March 2024 in western Japanese plants. The reports did not provide a timeline for this project.
