As the global supply chain for nickel is facing immense challenges, in part due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the EV supply chain is being impacted heavily. The shift to mine and refine nickel in the US and neighbor countries like Canada is being discussed, Tesla has even made a supply deal with Taton Metals that is starting the permitting process for a nickel mine in Minnesota.
