Looking at the cost to add 100 miles of range to an average EV or ICE, researchers found that looking at nationwide figures as well as data specific to San Francisco and Boston that there are large savings in refueling an EV versus an ICE. The average cost to refill an ICE with gas on 2/1/22 was $14.00, versus $5.00 to charge an EV.
