Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer attended a meeting with the President, Indiana's Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb and more to advocate for legislation that would provide $52 billion for domestic semiconductor chip production. This bill, which is stalled in Congress after each chamber passed their own version and have yet to reconcile them, is aimed at enhancing US competitiveness with China and protecting American auto-industry workers.
