USPS Doubling Initial Order of EV Trucks, Now Ordering 10,019 Vehicles

USPS is doubling its initial order of electric mail delivery trucks 3/24/22

USPS, which came under fire for its plan to purchase new trucks for its fleet that would be 90% ICE, has adjusted its plan. They were originally only ordering 5,000 EVs but now they say they will order 10,019. The decision came after pushback from the Administration and congressional Democrats. Postmaster General DeJoy said “We owe it to our carriers and the communities we serve to provide safer, more efficient vehicles to fulfill our universal service obligation to deliver to 161 million addresses in all climates and topographies six days per-week."
